Ronay is a graduate of Webster University with a MA in Accounting & Finance with 20+ year background in business ownership and senior Leadership. She has joined NAMI Board of Directors because she believes that mental wellness is essential to happiness.
Rick Eisenhart – Vice Persident
Kathy Bowers 2nd Vice President
Kathy Bowers has joined NAMI Board of Directors, bringing experience in Human Resources and Leadership Development from an extensive career at Magnesita Refractories, formerly Baker/LWB Refractories. She is an active member and volunteer at Church of the Open Door, along with York County Economic Alliance, Appell Center for the Performing Arts, Kavanna House, and various charitable events in the city, including the recent Give Local York. Kathy and her two sons, Caleb and Jordan, live in York and share a deep love of music, nature, and pets!
Cheryl Riebling – Treasurer
Cheryl is an accomplished executive with solid and progressive experience in all facets of leadership including leading organizations through critical transitions. She has success in motivating across functional teams. Cheryl is an achiever and self motivated with consistency in exceeding goals.
Anthony Bachman- Secretary
Anthony Bachman is a retired 8th grade, Middle School English teacher of the Spring Grove Area School District where he taught for 40 years and won the distinguished Teacher of the Year Award in 2011. A graduate of William Penn Sr. High of York, Bachman has earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Elizabethtown College, and Master’s Degrees from Shippensburg University and Christian International School of Theology.
Bachman was introduced to NAMI York in 2008 and took the Family-to-Family Course. Since then he has be trained to teach and taught that course over the next 8 years. He has volunteered to help with the NAMI York Walk since its inception, and helped as a volunteer at Health Fairs, Hearing Distressing Voices, and C.I.T. Training programs through NAMI York.
Bachman, who lives in Dover, PA, is married 41 years to Debra, and has three grown children and currently two granddaughters who help occupy his time. He enjoys writing as a hobby.
Kris Stroup has been employed at Bell for 33 years and her position is Director of Mental Health Services. She is married with 3 grown children. Kris enjoys spending time with family and friends, and being involved in activities in her home in Northeastern School District. Kris is excited about being involved with NAMI as she feels that it is such a great agency that has so much to offer our community.
Sandy Bankert has been employed for 25 years with TrueNorth Wellness Services, a behavioral health and wellness provider serving South Central PA. Currently, she is the Quality Improvement Coordinator, but worked for 18 years in Residential Services with individuals with mental illness.
For several years, Sandy has been a facilitator of the Hearing Distressing Voices workshop as well as the Mental Health First Aid training. Sandy has expressed she is honored to be a Board member and be a part of NAMI to continue its mission. In her spare time she enjoys photography and reading.
Donald Shores is the owner of Shores Marketing & Printing.
His wife is Karen and they have 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 2 cats named Cleopatra and Caesar. He grew up on a farm in Trappe, Maryland and has lived in York for 30 years. Donald’s philosophy in life is: ” Success comes by helping other people”.
