My husband and I have lived in York for 17 years and have three children. I am currently the development manager at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts in York. Prior to that, I was the archivist and librarian at the Jewish Museum of Maryland in Baltimore and then I worked in sales for 13 years, mostly with museums, libraries, and educational institutions. I have experience with new business development/marketing, fundraising, and non-profit development and also serve on the board of the York Suburban Education Foundation.
Reason for Seeking Board Membership
The reason I am seeking board membership is simple: I want to help. I consider myself one of the fortunate people who does not have a close family connection to mental illness, but I see the way it affects my friends and my community and I want to be a part of the solution. I believe education and advocacy are keys to destigmatizing mental illness and providing help for those in need and I look forward to putting my professional experience and spirit of support to work for NAMI.
