I have lived in the York County area the past 40 years, employed with a local manufacturer that entire time as first an Operations Manager and subsequently, the Director, Employee Relations – North America. I currently serve as Director, Human Resources for Steinman Communications. As part of my past corporate responsibilities, I have lived abroad, and extensively traveled Europe, North and South Americas, serving and learning about many different cultures. I am an active member of Church of the Open Door, and also chair the York County outreach committee seeking to support those less fortunate in our community. I have also volunteered and served on theYork County Economic Development Coalition, the York Women’s Business Center Organization, and the Appell Center for Performing Arts.
BOARD MEMBER GOAL:
I was accepted to the BOD two years ago, and openly sought to bring faith based community support to the mental health issues all of us and our families are challenged with every day. My mother attempted suicide twice, and I was the family member who discovered and fostered her journey to healing. Clinical depression is prevalent in my family, and I recognize the deep need for support services, such as NAMI provides. We are fortunate to have our local chapter partnering with Church of the Open Door and the West York School District to conduct our Annual Mental Health Walk and raise awareness in our community. It is my absolute privilege to serve and learn from our local consumers. My goal is to continue to obtain funding for further training of volunteers, who are CRITICAL to our mission!
