Find Help, Find Hope!

Kristin Stroup

Background: My husband and I have lived in York and Adams Counties for 35 years.  We have raised our 3 young adult children in the Northeastern area of York County. I have worked at Bell Socialization Services, Inc. for 35 years in several different capacities. I started in Bell’s Mental Health residential services and have held different management positions and have been the Director of Mental Health Services these last 22 years. I have volunteered for many school committees while my children were in school and I currently serve as a Director of Northeastern School District School Board. I have been active in many of our church committees over the years. I serve on several Mental Health Community committees through my work at Bell.

Reason for Seeking Board Membership:

My professional career obviously guides me to want to be a part of a great organization like NAMI , however in my personal life I have several friends and family members who are living with mental illness.  NAMI has been a shining light of an organization that provides support and guidance for families when people are at their lowest and most desperate point in their lives. While there are many good programs and agencies in York and Adams Counties, I feel like NAMI is unique and special as it really reaches families and  loved ones where other organizations are more focused on the individual consumer
