Sheri L. Stamm
Background: I have lived in York County for the past 23 years with my husband and 4 children. I have been in financial services for the past 16 years, working with individuals and families, to help them achieve their financial goals. I am currently a board member of The National Alliance on Mental Illness and The Rotary Club of York East, I am a member of The Women’s Philanthropic Network of Penn State, The York County Economic Alliance, The Women’s Business Center Organization, Order of the Eastern Stars, Order of the Amaranth and Women United. Community Service is a very important aspect my life and I try to give back as much as I can.
Reason for Seeking Board Membership: I saw an opportunity to help people to become aware of mental health and issues that many face when dealing with those who are struggling with mental illness and substance abuse. I witnessed how difficult it was for my husband to find someone to talk to and to help when he was suffering from crippling anxiety and panic attacks. My daughter’s best friend committed suicide at the young age of 17 without a warning that we could see. I want to assist those in need find the resources that are available to help them and to remove the stigma associated with those suffering with mental health issues.
